As a kid and admittedly even now, I was always turned off by something labeled a ‘classic.’ Even the word implied to me something stodgy, old, and worn out. Classics were filed away somewhere, put behind glass to keep meddling hands from somehow wrecking them. So no, I wouldn’t call Death of a Salesman a ‘classic.’ I would instead call it’s elemental.
